Last Day in Hill City

Man is Hill City gearing up for Sturgis Bike Week next week. There are hundreds of motorcycles here already.
Today we went back to Debbie's favorite place, Mount Rushmore...

So then we went panning for gold again
Don't think we struck it rich but we found a bunch more...

Then we got news from home...

Deerfield Lake

We spent the day kayaking and again we were treated to a specticle...
A Chinook Fire Helicopter was getting water for a fire from the lake and dumping it on the trees on the other side of Deerfield Lake.

By the time we got the Kayak in the water the Chinook was gone

We got back from Kayaking and jumped in the pool
Another beautiful day!
We're of to get Ice Coffee

Took a drive today

The one little buffalo that we pasted the other day seems a bit small

A little further along...

Then this Pronghorn appeared in a field aways down the road

Then we started seeing some deer

GOLD!!

Today we visited a gold mine in Hill City, SD.
It was great! So great that we both forgot to take any pictures.
But we found lots of stuff... Feldspare, Citron, Garnets, and 16 flakes of GOLD.
We stopped for an hour and spent 4 hours having a blast
Talk to you tomorrow

Crazy Horse

What an amazing place, we watched a video of the begining of construction to the present day. Amazing what the family has been through and the amazing things they've accomplished for the indians

Then we drove to Jewel Cave... Only to find out that we weren't dressed correctly and didn't have boots on, maybe next trip...

So then we decided to take the Steam Train to Keystone, SD, just below Mount Rushmore. The train travels right behind the Heads, (no not the bathrooms), the behind the Mt Rushmore heads.

The views from the train were great

Saw some deer, Debbie spotted 3 bear cubs playing on a cliff, they were neat
Then we arrived at Keystone

Keystone was loaded with jewelry shops... Don't think presents... we left it all there.
Then on the way back on the train we spotted some cows that actually prove that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence
Talk to everyone tomorrow

Custer State Park SD

Beauty is everywhere around us, each place we look it seems to get better
This is Slyvan Lake in Custer State Park

The Black Hills are awesome...

Beautiful

The animals are everywhere

We were looking off into the vast fields to find buffalo, when...

We actually beat the buffalo down the road by a nose
